We had our first retreat Weekend at Mulgoa in May and what a fantastic time we all had - lots of eating ,sewing and catching up with new and old friends.

The food and accommodation were excellent– with all of us going on strict diets when we got home getting ready for the next retreat.

Classes

Classes are progressing well– the girls who are making The Pieced Garden and Butterflies on the Heather, are going to end up with stunning quilts– their colour combinations are fantastic.

Embroidery with Ruth Marshall

Ruth is an experienced teacher of all facets of embroidery. Come along with a project in mind and receive expert guidance on stitching techniques, finishing and displaying your work of art.

Projects could include: woollen blankets, stumpwork picture, embroidered or hardanger table runner, silk ribbon embroidered cushion. The possibilities are endless……...

Machine Quilting with Deborah Louie

This is an intensive fun course. Come and learn to quilt your own quilts. On Day 1 you will learn how to mark, pin, stabilize, cross hatch, stitch in the ditch, and quilt cables on your quilts. Also, free motion stippling and swirls so bring along your quilt tops so you can get advice on how to quilt them. Day 2 is a day of free motion stitching designs like swirls, Baptist Fans, stipple, flowers, textures, echo, pebbles, waves and many more designs.

We will also quilt free form feathers, formal feathers, mark free quilting. We will look at quilting patterns and how to repeat them, & change them to make them original and suit your quilt.

Deborah shares her extensive knowledge with you to get you quilting all of those tops in your cupboard.

Machine Appliqué/Embroidery Quilt with Kerrie

Kerrie has a wealth of knowledge and experience with machine applique and embroidery. She is using a Monika Poole design ‘Renaissance’ to present this new class to you. Learn the quilt as you go technique, and expand your repertoire of machining skills to utilize your sewing machine to its full potential. Come in and see the quilt in the shop.

Enrolment: - Please enrol in the class or classes of your choice by either coming into the store, or call us and we will be happy to enrol you over the telephone. We ask that a deposit be paid for each class that you would like to do. This can be done either over the telephone with your credit card, or by visiting the shop in person. Please note that your place in a class is not secure until we receive the deposit. Requirements lists will be issued to you with confirmation of enrolment.

Cancellations: - We reserve the right to cancel a class if there are not sufficient enrolments. If we cancel the class, we will either refund your deposit or transfer it to another class, as you prefer. If you wish to cancel your enrolment in a class after your deposit is paid, we will refund your deposit if there is a list of students waiting to do the class, or if you can find someone to take your place. You may not cancel part way through a series of classes, so please check class dates carefully prior to enrolling.

Lunch for full day classes:

There are many coffee and sandwich shops close by in Camden, but it is often a good idea to bring your lunch with you. Tea, coffee and water are available in the class all day.
